6. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug. (US Models)
A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. The

Installation:
Installing the AC adapters
Insert the (2) wall socket plug adapters into the slot on the (2) AC/DC
power supplies that came with your SubCast kit. The plug adapters
that are in your box should be the correct type for your country’s
mains sockets.
If the included plug adapters do not fi t your mains
wall socket, please return the unit to your retail dealer
for an
exchange.
Plug the AC adapter into an AC mains wall socket and
attach one of the USB cords to the transmitter or to the receiver
by inserting one end into the correct socket on the back of the
Transmitter/Receiver and the other into
the USB port on the AC/DC adapter.
Complete this operation with each
unit included in your kit. A green light
will glow on the base of each unit
indicating you have power.

your AV receiver does not have an LFE output, you can connect the
SubCast transmitter to any line level output jacks that are available,
such as record/tape-out using the included RCA to RCA stereo
cable. If you do not have an LFE output on your AV receiver and your
receiver does not have any line level outputs, it is still possible to
connect the SubCast transmitter directly to the “B” speaker terminals
using a special adapter from Soundcast. Please contact Soundcast
directly at the number listed at the end of this section for details. The
remaining mini-jack is an output jack that can be used to connect to
a second SubCast transmitter if you want to use additional powered
subwoofers.
To complete your SubCast system you will need to connect your
SubCast Receiver to your powered subwoofer. Please connect
the AC/DC adapter to the SubCast Receiver in the same manner
described above. Then connect the receiver to your subwoofer by
running the single RCA to RCA cable from the left (white) jack on
the back of the SubCast Receiver to the LFE input on the powered
subwoofer. If your subwoofer has only stereo input jacks, then you
can use the included stereo RCA to RCA cable to connect both output
jacks of the SubCast Receiver to your subwoofer. Once you have
correctly installed your SubCast Receiver, you are ready to transmit
your music. The SubCast Receiver can be
attached to back of your subwoofer using
the included strip of Velcro

Adapter
Your SubCast Transmitter has been set at the factory for the output
voltage of most common component devices. However, should you
nd that signal received by your SubCast Receiver is much lower in
volume than you might expect, there is a small sensitivity switch
(IN)
on the bottom of the SubCast Transmitter. You can place this switch
into the other more sensitive position
(Lo)
, if you need to improve the
overall gain of your system. Please
use the tip of a pen or pencil to
move this switch.
Your subwoofer should be installed
at a distance of no more than 150
feet (45 meters) from your SubCast
Transmitter. In addition to the green
power light in the bottom plate of the
7
transmitter and receiver, the front of the plate will also glow blue once
the wireless link is established. Once the link is in place, you should
be able to hear the bass music from your AV receiver through the
SubCast Receiver connected to your subwoofer. Make sure both units
are set on the same transmitting channel.
See explanation of this
feature below.
You can leave the SubCast system hooked up 24 hours per day if you
wish to do so – it is designed for continuous operation. However, if
you do not intend to use the system for an extended period of time,
you should disconnect the power supplies from the wall outlets to
conserve energy.
Additional Features
Your SubCast Transmitter has a multi-room
(M)
and same room
(S)
selector switch on the bottom of the unit
(RM)
. It is set at the factory
for same room
(S)
applications. This will maximize the performance
when you are transmitting bass music to a subwoofer located in
the same room as the AV receiver or processor. In this position, the

sounds coming from the subwoofer will
be properly coordinated with action on
the screen or the music being played
through your system. However, if you
wish to transmit music to powered
subwoofer in another room, then you will
need to select the multi room position
(M). This will improve the performance
at great distances, but it will only be
useful if the rest of the audio signals
in the room are also being transmitted
with Soundcast products.
This is
not a recommended application for
SubCast.
Each SubCast transmitter can operate up to two SubCast Receivers.
This means you can purchase a second SubCast Receiver from your
retailer and transmit audio to two different subwoofers in your house.
You can also connect two SubCast Transmitters to the same audio
source using the output of one transmitter linked to input of another
transmitter. By linking two transmitters in this manner, and by using
two SubCast Receivers for each one, you can create a four subwoofer
system. Please remember that the same music source will be heard
in all subwoofers and that you can only link a maximum of two
transmitters in this fashion. You will need to set the two transmitters
on different channels by using the channel selector switch on the back
of the unit and matching the channel selector switch on receiver units.
See next page.
It is also possible to operate two entirely different Soundcast systems
in the same household if you wish. Two transmitters can operate
within the same 150 foot (45 meter) radius by using the channel
selector switch on the back of the unit. All Soundcast products come
from the factory with Channel 1 selected. On the back or bottom of
SubCast Receivers
8
each Soundcast unit there is a three position selector switch to allow
the user to select different transmission channels.
When you wish to use two Soundcast systems at the same time,
leave one system on Channel 1
and move the selector switch to on
the second system to Channel 2 or
3. Please remember that both the
transmitter and receiver or Soundcast
wireless speaker system must be

set on the same Channel. When set this way, the two systems will not
confl ict with each other and you can use two different music sources
operating two different audio systems in the same house.
The Channel selector switch will also allow you to eliminate the signal
from a neighbor’s Soundcast system. If you live in an apartment
building and fi nd that you receive music from another Soundcast
system, simply move the selector switches on your Soundcast
Transmitter and Receiver to a different Channel and the unwanted
signal will stop being received.
