Search Code Enforcement Cases

This guide is created to assist customers in the search of Code Enforcement Cases
using the BuildSA online portal Code module. It is not necessary to create an
online account to search for cases. The Code Module allows you to view the status
of a Code Enforcement case but not to create any new cases.
Customers may search Code Enforcement cases by any of the following:
Application Number
Street Name
Address
Date Range
Investigation Type

Access the Online Portal
1. Click the Code Module tab (#1).
2. The Search page displays (shown).

3. The Global search (#2) and the General Search (#3) may be used to search for
all record types and not just Code Enforcement cases. (shown).

4. The General Search section of the page displays an Application Type field (#4).
Click the drop-down menu arrow to view the categories available for searching
Code Enforcement cases.
5. The Search page provides Date Range option fields. You may select a Start and
End date for your search but it is not necessary.

6. The License section of the General Search page is not used to search for Code
Enforcement cases.
7. The bottom portion of the Search page lets customers search by Street Name
(#7); or, if known, a street number range (#6).

8. Click the Search button at the bottom of the page when you are ready for the
results.

The following example is of a Graffiti Investigation search and how the search
results display:

The results page displays how many cases were found. The Export Results
functionality creates an excel spreadsheet of the searches.

The date the case was created.

The hyperlink to click and access the case details and view the processing
status.

The type of Code Enforcement case.

How to search for Processing Status information for an investigation
1. Click the Record Info drop-down menu arrow (#1). Next, click Processing
Status (#2).
2. The Processing Status page displays (shown below).
