Part-time Programs
1. If we cancel a course, all your fees
are totally refunded.
2. If you cannot attend a class that
has been rescheduled to a time or
place other than advertised, you are
entitled to a full refund.
3. If you withdraw from a class
before the rst scheduled class
meeting, a full tuition refund, less a
withdrawal fee of $25, will be made
after the withdrawal* is requested
in writing.
4. If you withdraw after the rst
scheduled class meeting but before
the second class meeting, one-half
of the tuition, less a withdrawal fee
of $25, will be refunded after with-
drawal* is requested in writing.
NOTE: No refunds for any dance
or tness class after the rst class
begins.
5. All extra costs, such as books or
equipment that were not included
in tuition price, are not subject to
refund.
6. We are unable to provide refunds
for requests received after the
second scheduled class meeting.
Waivers may be granted only under
extenuating circumstances which
must be detailed in writing within
ve days of your last day of atten-
dance. If a waiver is granted, it must
be used within one calendar year.
Decisions to grant waivers are the
prerogative of the WS BOCES admin-
istrator whose decision is nal.
7. Any overpayment accepted will be
totally refunded.
8. There is a $25 fee for all returned
checks.
9. Payments made with a credit card
will receive refund credit on their
credit card, however, any refund
made after 120 days will be issued
by WS BOCES check regardless of
how tuition was paid.

MARINE SERVICE TECHNICIAN
PRE-APPRENTICE PROGRAM
Gain the skills you need to work in the recreational boating
industry as a qualied marine technician. Learn to service
boats, boat engines and related systems as well as boat
yard operations. Wilson Tech’s program addresses the
rapid advances in marine propulsion technology that
now demand a high level of competency and training.
Students who successfully complete this program have
the opportunity to apply for 7 credits of advanced standing
toward the Maritime Technology A.A.S. Degree Program at
Kingsborough Community College and be considered for
their NYS Marine Services Technician Apprentice Program.
A basic set of hand tools as well as multi-meter and basic
diagnostic tools are the student’s responsibility, (approx.
$2,500 in total). Tools can be purchased as needed based

MODULE I- ENGINE TECHNOLOGY I: 6
HOURS PER WEEK, 6 WEEKS 36 HOURS
The principles of the internal combustion 2-stroke,
2-cycle and the 4-stroke, 4-cycle gasoline marine
engine will be covered. Included are the topics
of construction, testing and maintenance of
these engines as well the methods of converting
the generated energy into vessel propulsion.
Propulsion topics primarily focus on outboards and
in-board, outboard drives.
MODULE II - LOW VOLTAGE ELEC-
TRICAL SYSTEMS: 6 HOURS WEEK, 6
WEEKS 36 HOURS
The course will focus on Ohms law, series and
parallel circuits, low voltage DC systems, and
hull wiring. The student will learn to troubleshoot
typical circuits found on modern crafts using the
latest test equipment as well as the latest ABYC
standards with regard to electrical wiring and
systems. Students will be required to pass the
various Snap-on Certication Tests.
MODULE III - MARINA OPERATIONS: 6
HOURS PER WEEK, 8 WEEKS 48 HOURS
Basic skills required for the daily operation of a
full-service marina or boatyard will be covered in
a two-hour lecture and two hours of laboratory
work each week. Each lecture/lab covers the
varied technical aspects of a typical marina
including: hand and power tool identication and
usage; special tools and marina equipment. Lab
sessions concentrate upon basic skills needed for
actual operation of a typical marina and specic
lab sessions will cover Fork/Strap Lift operations
and Bottom Painting Apprentice training where
standard industry certications will be earned for
successful completion of the training.
MARINE ENGINES & SYSTEMS
This class is designed for boating enthusiasts looking to work on their own boats. Course includes basic operating principles and
procedures for tune-ups, water pumps and winterizing procedures. Marine engine technology topics include: working on outboard
and inboard engines, stern drive engines and systems.

child care providers, this class is
approved by the New York State Ofce
of Children and Family Services to
meet your requirement for CPR training
and First Aid training. This course is
instructor lead with some video based
and hands-on training where students
will learn how to respond to choking,
breathing and cardiac emergencies for
adults, children and infants and how to
use an AED unit in conjunction with CPR.
Students will learn how to assess and
care for common injuries and illnesses
