Social Work Month is a time to celebrate and acknowledge the great
profession of social work and the dedicated Social Workers that
uphold the ethical practice and values of this profession. I would like
to take a moment to acknowledge Eggleston Family Services’
esteemed Social Workers for their extraordinary contributions to the
Foster Family Agency and Adoptions departments. Their unwavering
commitment to bettering the lives of our youth and the tireless work
they do to support them and our resource families does not go
unnoticed. Much effort and hard work goes into helping to support
our youth’s permanency goals and ensuring their safety and overall
well-being, and yet they do it all with such grace, optimism, and
positive attitude. Their continued commitment to our agency and
youth speaks volumes about their compassion and dedication to their
profession, and to Eggleston Family Services. Their impact on our
youth and families, agency, and field is undeniable.
To our FFA and Adoption Social Workers and Staff, thank you for all
you do for our youth and families, and a personal thank you for
inspiring me day in and day out. As always, I am grateful to be part of
this team.
Happy Social Work Month!

RE: STRTP Eggleston Youth Center, located at Pomona
I have been the social worker for a client staying at the above address since 09/23/22 until now. I have
had other clients at different STRTPs Group Homes (GH), but none of them compare to yours. At my first
visit, I could immediately tell the difference and it pleasantly surprised me. I could sense the caring and
friendly atmosphere it was/is very palpable and real and it has been the same throughout my visits for
almost two years.
Besides the professionalism of the staff and the services they provide, it is this genuine, caring, friendly,
easy going approach that makes such a huge difference. I have no other explanation for the great
improvement and success of my client from the way he was before he entered your GH to the much more
mature adult he is today.
This is what I wrote to Court in my 09/07/23 Court Report:
Every time CSW visited K, CSW observed that the atmosphere in the GH was very pleasant and friendly.
It appeared like the staff and clients were like one happy family, working cohesively together. The staff
stated that they really care for their residents, and state that K. is doing extremely well.”
I am happy K. was placed in your facility and benefitted so much from all the excellent staff you placed
there. Now that he is being transferred to the AB12 unit, and will have an AB12 CSW instead of me, my
only hope is that any future clients I am responsible for be placed in your significantly superior STRTP,
and not in one of the other ones that do not function nearly as well, nor produce the same quality
results.
Sincerely,
Moishe Gutnick

The National Womens History Month’s theme for 2024 celebrates
“Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.” Womens
History Month is a dedicated month to reflect on the often-overlooked
contributions of women to U.S. history. From Abigail Adams to Susan B.
Anthony, Sojourner Truth to Rosa Parks, the timeline of women’s history
milestones stretches back to the founding of the United States.
The actual celebration of Womens History Month grew out of a weeklong
celebration of women’s contributions to culture, history and society
organized by the school district of Sonoma, California, in 1978.
Presentations were given at dozens of schools, hundreds of students
participated in a “Real Woman” essay contest and a parade was held in
downtown Santa Rosa.
A few years later, the idea caught on within communities, school districts
and organizations across the country. In 1980, President Jimmy
Carter issued the first presidential proclamation declaring the week of
March 8 as National Womens History Week. The U.S. Congress followed
suit the next year, passing a resolution establishing a national celebration.
Six years later, the National Women’s History Project successfully
petitioned Congress to expand the event to the entire month of March.
