Al and Susan Go are former members of EBCG. Al served as an Elder
and Susan worked with the Women’s ministry during their time at
EBCG. Al is now leading UNTO, the humanitarian relief arm of Cru
Ministry. Al shared this story from a recent newsletter:
"We have a gi that’s better than rice,” our team member told a
refugee from a country in the Middle East, one that is closed to the
message of Jesus’ eternal hope. He was curious about this gi that
was “better than rice.” He and his daughter had come to receive
meals that were distributed by UNTO, through our local Cru teams.
The lifesaving aid given—provided by people like you—is the only help
he and his family receive. Aer giving him food for his children, our
local team member handed him a Bible. He took it happily, held it up,
and kissed it! In his country, a printed Bible is priceless. People treat it
reverently and with great respect. When his daughter found out the
Bible was translated into her language, she told our partners, “I want
a copy, please. I want to read it. I am so excited to read the Bible.”
Even during these days of social distancing, through your prayers and
support God “cracks open” some of the most closed doors on earth
by sending lifesaving aid to people like this man and his family.
