An American, a Canadian and a Brit walk into a bar. But this isn’t a bad joke, this is the Ladies of Valhalla.
In their second episode, the Ladies talk through the award-winning webcomic and graphic novel Nimona, from Noelle Stevenson. They take an in-depth look at the story, art, and characters, as well as coming up with a soundtrack for the book and a dream cast for the forthcoming movie adaptation. Also, Jessica schools everyone on why we eat fast food, Sarah proves she has terrible taste in music, and Bronwyn goes all Shakespearean!
Next month they will be looking at A.S. King’s novel Glory O’Brien’s History of the Future, a story about photography, feminism and the future.
Thank you to everyone who reached out with feedback on the first episode, especially about Sarah being too quiet – they do say there is a first time for everything! In an attempt to sort out the volume issues, the Ladies have turned Sarah up, but maybe a bit too much. We promise that W eats working on the issues, and hope that you will bear with us while we sort out the teething problems with the very latest addition to our family.
